Goodreads - Churchill: Walking with Destiny

If it were socially acceptable for a 50 year old man with a wife and kids like myself, to have an idol other than my dad, the Bulldog would be it...ha.  I love this man.  I read anything I can get my hands on when it comes to Churchill.  As we all are, he's a flawed man but nobody loved England more than Winston.

Andrew Roberts does a great job chronicling the WWII years but I was most interested in the years when he first became a MP at the age of 1904.   Yes, Winston loved to hear himself speak but damn it, he was great at it.  He was also one hell of a courageous man.  My one complaint was I was looking for more info on the post WWII years especially him becoming PM for a second time.  He is one of my favorite historical figures.  It's a long book but I loved and learned so much.

4.5 stars from me.
